Attorney Steven Dwyer of Stoneham, MA; cheating slacker

The state of Massachusetts presented Steven Michael Dwyer with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the Massachusetts School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Knowingly disobeyed obligations under rules of a tribunal
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Charged clearly excessive fees while failing to render a bill for same (cheater)
• Failed to provide invoice for fees before paying himself from conservator account
• Engaged in multiple violations of the rules of conduct
• Conduct placed a vulnerable person at risk
• Engaged in recordkeeping lapses
• In refunding fees to once client Stevie misused $600 in retainer funds of another client
• Failed to perform mandatory three-way client fund reconciliations

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Stevie.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Stevie fails to mention the above misconduct on his self-serving website at www.smdwyerlaw.com.  Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. November 2022), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Offices of Steven M. Dwyer at 61 Main Street in Stoneham, Massachusetts.
