Attorney Dustin Matthews of Clearfield, UT; convicted wife beater

 

The State of Utah presented Dustin R. Matthews with a law license in 2012 after he graduated from Duquesne University School of Law.

 

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Violated a protective order in place that prohibited him from having any contact with the victim
  • Repeatedly contacting the victim via text messages, emails, and phone calls
  • Logged into her Facebook page and posted personal messages
  • Convicted of one count of Attempted Stalking
  • Attempted to make a turn while riding his motorcycle and crashed
  • Officers at the scene reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from Adam
  • Police obtained a warrant for Adams’ blood to test his blood alcohol level
  • When officers attempted to take his blood, Adam resisted and repeatedly kicked the officers
  • Adam convicted of one count of Assault Against a Police Officer/Military Service Member
  • Adam convicted of one count of Attempted Obstructing Justice
  • Adam convicted of one count of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs
  • Adam convicted of one count of Disorderly Conduct After Request to Stop
  • Police were dispatched to Adam’s residence after a report of an assault
  • After questioning, the police gathered that Adam had gotten into an argument with his wife
  • During the argument, Adam pushed his wife to the ground, grabbed her hair, and slammed her head against the floor
  • At the time of the assault, Adam’s wife was pregnant at the time and two children were in the home Mr. Adams was convicted of one count of Assault and two counts of Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Bill by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license effective September 2020.  

 

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Dustin will resume his so-called brand of law with Brightvice at 1725 East 1450 South in Clearfield, Utah in September 2023.
