Former Judge William Wiginton of Jasper, GA: serial thief

The Judicial Qualifications Commission found Judge William Wiginton guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as the Chief Magistrate Judge of Pickens Count and an Associate Probate Judge of Pickens County.

  • Committed crimes involving felony theft by the misuse of a government issued financial transaction card
  • Charged with one count of violating his oath of office
  • Charged with six counts of felony theft
  • Charged with three counts of misuse of government issued credit card
  • Billy’s crimes involved allegations of the theft of funds from Pickens County and the Magistrate Court of Pickens County
  • The Pickens County Grand Jury indicted Billy with 57 counts of criminal conduct

As one would suspect, Billy did what any cowardly Judicial Misfit would be expected to do, he voluntarily resigned rather than face being removed from the bench.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), it is rumored that Billy has an application pending for a job as a stockboy at the Walmart Supercenter Store at 1100 Old Philadelphia Road in Jasper, Georgia.
