Former Judge Samuel Pope of Lake Village, AR; scofflaw, loser

The state of Arkansas provided Samuel B. Pope with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of Winnipeg School of Law.

The Arkansas Judicial Discipline & Disability Commission found Sammy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a 10th Circuit Court judge in Monticello, Arkansas

  • Sammy was involved in a confrontation with Billy Murray at a Wal-Mart with his wife’s estranged wife, Gayle Zimmerman
  • Sammy and Billy became involved in a verbal altercation that ultimately became physical
  • Wal-Mart security, other employees and store customers broke up the fight
  • Crossett Police arrested Sammy and Billy and led them away in handcuffs
  • Video of the incident shows that Sammy began the physical confrontation by pushing a shopping cart and his daughter out of the way to go toward Billy in an aggressive manner
  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Sammy by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension without pay from the bench.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Sammy practices is so-called brand of law at 628 South Lakeshore Drive in Lake Village, Arkansas.
