Attorney Benjamin Delanghe of Denver, CO; convicted druggie

The state of Colorado provided Benjamin J.J. Delanghe with a law license in 2011 after he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law.

The Colorado State Bar found Benny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Benny pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance
  • The factual predicate involved two incidents in 2019 when a confidential source working with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) arranged to purchase cocaine from Benny
  • DEA agents provided the confidential source $3,000 and drove the confidential source to a location near Benny’s home
  • DEA agents watched the confidential source enter Benny’s home during surveillance
  • The confidential source used the funds to purchase Benny two ounces of cocaine
  • DEA agents verified through laboratory testing and analysis that the net weight of the purchased cocaine was 55.4 grams
  • Engaged in conduct adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license effective July 2022.

As we speak, (ca. October 2022), Benny will be resuming his so-called brand of law with The Odin Law Group in Denver, Colorado in mid-2025.
