Newt Gingrich: Today’s “Moronic Liar” Award Winner

This isn’t the first award presented to Newt. In the past he has been the recipient of forty-three (43) awards in various categories and the subject of three (3) opinion pieces. That awards and opinion pieces can be viewed by going to the listed categories at the end of this article.

During a recent (ca. October 2022) interview with NBC News senior congressional correspondent, Scott Wong, Newt became sarcastic in responding to questions about the House Committee investigating the Jan 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. The back and forth between Scott and Newt went like this.

SCOTT:

“What do you think about the January 6 Committee?”

NEWT:

“I don’t.”

SCOTT:

“You have no thoughts about the committee itself?”

NEWT:

“I think you have a learning disability.”

SCOTT:

“Excuse me.”

NEWT:

“The fact is, I’ve said three or four times, I don’t talk about it.”

As usual, Newt is lying about not thinking about the January 6 Committee. Earlier in the year, Newt made the following statement about the Committee.

"I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down, and the wolves are going to find out that they're now sheep and they're the ones who … I think, face a real risk of jail for the kinds of laws they're breaking."

Newt went on to call on Republicans to form a “Select Committee on Congressional Dishonesty and Abuse of Power” to investigate members of the Jan 6 committee and Justice Department officials.

Of course, we must recall that Newt is a three-time divorcee who served one of his wives with divorce papers while she was in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy.
