Attorney S. Garrett Beck of Petoskey, MI; ethical goblin

The state of Michigan provided Isaiah Lipsey with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Detroit Law School.

The Attorney Disciplinary Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #4 found Beck guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in pursuing frivolous litigation
  • Asserted issues and brought proceedings that had no basis in law or fact
  • Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Brought or defended a proceeding or issue for which there was no basis for doing so
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Engaged in conduct that exposes the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach

As a Direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Beck by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of $1,006.21.

As we speak (ca. September 2022), Beck practices his so-called brand of law at 224 Michigan Street in Petoskey, Michigan.
