Attorney William Briskin of Highland Park, IL; repeat offender

The state of Illinois presented William Briskin Kohn a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Indiana University School of Law.

The Disciplinary Commission found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Billy’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to promptly refund unearned fees to a client
• Conduct brought legal profession into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Billy’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to timely respond to summary judgment motions fled by defendants in a matter wherein he was representing a physician in a business dispute
• Failed to file a brief in the resulting appeal despite receiving three extensions of time to so act from the appellate court
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Billy!

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2022), Billy practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Offices of William B. Kohn at 364 Iris Lane in Highland Park, Illinois.
