Attorney Shawn Campbell of Spartanburg, SC; ethical troll

The State of South Carolina presented Shawn M. Campbell with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Shawn guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to establish financial required recordkeeping procedures
  • Failed to perform monthly trust fund reconciliations
  • Failed adequately supervise his office manager to ensure she knew how to perform the reconciliations
  • Failed to ensure his firm complied with the financial recordkeeping requirements
  • Admitted to failing to timely deposit cash payments into the trust account
  • Failed to train and supervise the office manager's handling of the financial recordkeeping
  • Failed to adequately explain the basis of the fee to a client
  • Failed to provide clients with flat-fee agreements in writing
  • Failed to provide full accounting client funds to his clients
  • As of 2020, Shawn owed the IRS over 60,000 in unpaid taxes
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Shawn by gifting him with a complimentary 4-month suspension of his law license.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Shawn fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.shawncampbelllawoffices.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Shawn practices his so-called brand of law with the Campbell Law Offices at 1451 East Main Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
