Judge Michelle Holmes of Avondale, LA; ethical elf

The Judicial Commission of Louisiana found Michelle guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Improperly charged her constable expenses attributable solely to the operation of her office
• Failed to adequately communicate and cooperate with her constable about accounting and fee sharing
• Failed to retain in a separate account the filing fees charged for the clerk of court as required by statute
• Failed to remit nearly $2,000.00 in filing fees she owed to Constable Floyd Davis for over two (2) years

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for the Judicial Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court agreed to hold off providing any punishment for Michell’s misconduct for three (3) years (ca. 2025).

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court failed to mete out any meaningful punishment to Michelle.
