Attorney John Bassett of Milwaukie, OR; ethical misfit

The State of Oregon presented John Bassett with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

FYI: This wasn’t Johnny’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. Johnny previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

• Johnny had a selfish motive for his own monetary profit
• Client was a vulnerable victim given his financial insecurity and threat of eviction posed using a warranty deed
• Violated duties he owed to his client to avoid conflicts of interest

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Johnny practices his so-called brand of law at 2711 SE Swain Avenue in Milwaukie, Oregon.
