Judge James Chalfant of Los Angeles; dimwitted scofflaw

The state of California provided James Cameron Chalfant a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of California Berkeley School of Law.

It should be noted that this isn’t Jimmy’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously spanked by the Court of Appeals for acting as an imperialist jurist. That article can be found by visiting the URL at the end of this article.

FYI: Former Gov. Pete Wilson was duped into appointing Jimmy as a Los Angeles County judge in 1996. Jimmy didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Los Angeles area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Jimmy was assigned to preside over a case involving a ballot challenge regarding an open judicial seat for the Los Angeles County Superior Court. The challenge involved the ballot designation of candidate Gloria Huerta.

Ms. Huerta claims on her ballot that she is a “Deputy District Attorney” when in fact that designation is patently false.

Even though Ms. Huerta is not a “Deputy District Attorney” and under California election law, she is prohibited from using that designation. The only designation that she could lawfully use was “attorney.”

Despite the facts set forth above, in his infinite ignorance, Jimmy ruled that Ms. Huerta would be allowed to run as “Deputy District Attorney” even though she is not a “Deputy District Attorney.”

And lastly, Jimmy’s conduct in this matter is evidence that he could care less about following the law even though he took an oath of office to so act.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Jimmy dispenses his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in Los Angeles, California.
