Judge Michael Kassel of Camden, NJ; Admitted Dimwit

The State of New Jersey presented Michael J. Kassel with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the Rutgers University School of Law.

The Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which relate to his temporary assignment to the Family Division of the Camden Vicinage.

• Admitted to being ignorant of the law relating to family law (moron)
• Professed little knowledge of case assigned to him
• Advised litigants and their counsel in open court that he lacked any familiarity with their cases, was ignorant of the applicable law
• Admitted in open court that he was incapable of adjudicating family court matters
• Mikey compared himself to an obstetrician who had to treat broken bones and/or a cardiologist seeing his first patient
• Told parties appearing before him that, “Frankly, you could get a guy off the street that’s more experienced than me with this stuff.”
• Appeared in courtroom for virtual hearing with feet propped up on his desk and without wearing a judicial robe
• Told the parties before the start of a hearing that, he had “zero, zero matrimonial knowledge.”
• Told the parties that, “I don’t have the capacity to read through paperwork and financials to understand. I just don’t. That’s the reality.”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Mikey by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Mikey dispenses his so-called idea of jurisprudence as Camden County Superior Court judge in Camden, New Jersey.
