Former Judge Robert Jones of Livingston, NJ; drunken convict

The state of New Jersey presented Robert Alan Jones with a law license after in 1984 after he graduated from Seton Hall University Law School.

The New Jersey Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct found Bobby guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was sitting as a part-time judge in the Muncipal Court of the Township of Livingston, Essex County.

  • Failed to respect the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to always act in manner promoting public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
  • Failed to observe high standards of conduct so that the integrity and independence of the Judiciary may be preserved
  • Patrolmen Brian Conover and Thomas Pomroy observed Bobby driving and conducted a traffic stop
  • Patrolman Conover detected odor of alcohol and observed Bobby’s eyes to be bloodshot and watery
  • After conduct field sobriety tests, all which Bobby failed, he was arrested and taken to the troy Hills Police Department
  • Shortly after being taken to jail, Bobby denied having consumed any alcohol to Patrolman Conover
  • Subsequently, Bobby plead guilty to driving under the influence (DUI)
  • By driving drunk, Bobby demeaned his judicial office
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Bobby fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.bobjoneslawnj.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Dick practices his so-called brand of law at 354 Eisenhower Parkway in Livingston, New Jersey.
