Attorney Maria Santana of Salt Lake City; ethical troll

The State of Utah presented Maria C. Santana with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the University of Utah School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme found Maria guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with his client
• Failed to terminate or decline representation when required to do so
• Failed to file an objection or otherwise respond to opposing counsel’s motion to dismiss for failure to prosecute client lawsuit
• Maria’s failure to prosecute her client’s case led to court dismissing the claims with prejudice, meaning client was prohibited from ever pursuing the claims in the future
• Refused to return client file until ethics investigators contacted her

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Maria by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Maria’s self-serving law firm fails to make any mention of her egregious misconduct as aforementioned on her website at www.santanlawfirm.wixsite.com. Apparently, Maria decided to conceal these highly relevant facts from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting her future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Maria practices her so-called brand of law with the Santana Law Firm at 44 West Broadway in Salt Lake City, Utah.
