Attorney Howard Baker, Jr. of Decatur, IL; lying loser

The state of Illinois presented Howard Randolph Baker Jr. with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from DePaul University School of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission Office found Howie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with discovery deadlines in a client’s dissolution of marriage matter
• When the court barred the client from presenting evidence requested in the discovery, Howie advised the court that his own mental health issues had caused the non-compliance but falsely told the court that he was in counseling to deal with those issues

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Andy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Howie.
