Attorney Christopher Throssel of Fort Collins, CO; convicted wife beater

The state of Colorado provided Christopher Throssel with a law license in 2018 after he graduated from Willamette University School of Law.

The Colorado State Bar found Tineke guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Pled guilty to criminal mischief as an act of domestic violence
  • Separately pleaded guilty to a third-degree assault as an act of domestic violence
  • Destroyed ex-wife’s phone during an argument with her, after which she attempted to call 911 on a second phone before Chris took it away
  • Chris’s ex-wife placed another call to 911 while sheltering in a bedroom with one of the children she shared with Chris
  • After law enforcement responded, Doug’s ex-wife reported a separate incident, telling police officers that Chris had grabbed her by her hair during a recent argument, dragged her down a set of stairs, and strangled her until she lost consciousness
  • Chris was separately charged for the strangulation of his ex-wife
  • Committed a criminal act adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits in Colorado sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Chris practices his so-called brand of law with the Professional Finance Company at 2313 Northbrook Drive in Fort Collins, Colorado.
