Attorney Ambar Bhargava of Williamsville, NY; scamming loser
The State of New York presented Ambar Bhargava with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the Syracuse University School of Law.
The Grievance Committee of the Eighth Judicial District found Ambar guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.
-
Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Ambar!)
-
Entered into an improper arrangement with a business acquaintance who agreed to refer real estate clients to Ambar in exchange for the acquaintance’s use of respondent’s attorney trust account to conduct business as a paid escrow agent for commercial financing and loan transactions involving parties
-
who were unknown to Ambar
-
Allowed his acquaintance to cause 11 deposits, in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $225,000, to be made into Ambar’s attorney trust account, after which the acquaintance gave Ambar instructions for disbursement of said funds
-
Ambar admitted that, prior to disbursement of the funds, he paid escrow fees to himself and the acquaintance related to the 11 deposits, which resulted in Ambar receiving a total amount of $5,370 for such fees
-
Failed to make and keep required records for the trust account transactions initiated by the acquaintance
-
Failed to notify the parties to the escrow transactions when the funds were received or disbursed
-
Commingled client funds with personal funds
-
Failed to maintain required bookkeeping and other records concerning transactions involving his attorney trust account
-
Failed to notify promptly a client or third person of the receipt of funds in which the client or third person has an interest
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Ambar by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
As we speak (ca. April 2022), Ambar practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of Ambar Bhargava at 22 Evans Street in Williamsville, New York.
