Attorney William Hobson of Philadelphia; dimwitted slacker

The state of Pennsylvania provided William D. Hobson with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from Widener University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to consult with client as to means to accomplish client objectives
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to permit client to make informed decisions regarding representation
  • Upon termination, failed to take steps to protect a client’s interests
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license effective as of March, 2022.

As we speak (ca. April 2022, Billy will resume his so-called practice of law at 1500 JFK Blvd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in early 2027.
