Attorney Wanemond Smith of Chicago; thieving repeater

The state of Illinois presented Wanemond Smith with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from DePaul University School of Law.

FYI: This isn’t Wanemond’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Wanemond guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Converted $25,000 belonging to a client in a probate matter
  • Converted $5,947 belonging to another client in a domestic relations matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Brent by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license effective November 10, 2021.

As we speak (ca. April 2024, Wanemond will resume his so-called practice of law with Wanemond PC at 203 North LaSalle in Chicago, Illinois in late 2024.
