Attorney Michael Burr of Chicago, IL; scamming loser

The state of Illinois presented Michael Christopher Burr with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from DePaul University School of Law.

The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • In a bankruptcy matter, Mikey filed a declaration by his client that purported to certify that the client had reviewed certain schedules and statements when he knew the client had not reviewed them
  • Provided a false itemization of some of his time to the bankruptcy trustee, who was seeking information to substantiate Mikey’s claim for fees in the matter
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2022), Mikey practices his so-called brand of law with Borges and Wu LLC at 105 West Madison Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.

CAUTION: Mikey and his firm do not carry legal malpractice insurance
