Judge George Anaya Jr. of Santa Fe, NM; ethical troll

FYI: Former Gov. Bill Graves was duped into appointing Marty as District Court judge in 1998. Marty didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Barton County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Kansas Commission on Judicial Qualifications found Marty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a district magistrate judge of the 20th Judicial District.

  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) phone calls on a Friday with the father of a woman who had just been arrested on multiple violent felonies
  • Released the defendant on Saturday contrary to court protocol directing judges on call over the weekend not to release alleged violent offenders until the next business day
  • Failed to disclose the calls to the father to the prosecution
  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to engage in conduct promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Failed to ensure the rights of a defendant to be heard (aka, due process)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), George continues to dispense his so-called idea of jurisprudence as a Santa Fe County Magistrate District Court Division 2 judge in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
