Judge Patricia Ruttle of Ft. Wright, KY; ethical misfit

The state of Kentucky provided Patricia Ann Ruttle with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Law.

The Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission found Patty guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Improperly required defendants in criminal trial to file written demands for jury trials
  • Made comments directed to attorney with Department of Public Advocacy that were not patient, dignified, and courteous
  • In proceeding with unrepresented defendant, Annie suggested he enter into a plea agreement that could reasonably have been perceived as coercive
  • Failed to act in a manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to uphold the law
  • Failed to perform all her judicial duties fairly and impartially

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Kentucky Supreme Court punished Patty by gifting her with a 7-day suspension from the bench without pay.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Patty continues to dispense her so-called idea of jurisprudence a 16th Judicial Circuit Judge in Ft. Wright, Kentucky.
