Former Master Commissioner John Schmidt of Shepherdsville, KY; scofflaw

The state of Kentucky provided John Hilary Schmidt with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Law.

The Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct, all of which took place while was employed as the Master Commissioner for Bullitt County.

  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to uphold the integrity of the judiciary
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Misappropriated (stole) $81,000.00 in funds related to a judicial sale
  • Failed to competently perform his functions with integrity
  • Failed to collect and disburse costs of sale in numerous cases
  • Engaged in a substantial dereliction of duty
  • Engaged in a significant violation of public trust placed in the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Kentucky Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. It should be noted that Bullitt County went a step further by removing Johnny from his position as Master Commissioner.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Johnny practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of John Schmidt & Assoc PLLC at 305 South Buckman Street in Shepherdsville, Kentucky,
