Attorney Stephen Brett of York Beach, ME; repeat offender

 

The state of Maine presented Stephen M. Brett with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the New England School of Law.

 

The Grievance Commission of the Maine Board of Bar Overseers found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Stevie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving, fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Revealed confidential client information
  • Failed to call upon a client to rectify fraud on tribunal

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Stevie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct unworthy of an attorney
  • Failed to properly preserve identity of client funds and property
  • Engaged in illegal conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Supreme Judicial Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. February 2022), Stevie practices his so-called brand of law at 1071 Lisbon Street in York Beach, Maine.
