Judge Barry Sims of Little Rock, AR; bully, repeat offender

The State of Arkansas presented Barry Sims with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law.

It should be noted that Barry has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-four (24) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater

FYI: This isn’t Barry’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct

The Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission found Barry guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Exhibited a total disregard for the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to promote public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
  • Was impatient, discourteous, and rude to public defender
  • Barry’s tone of voice was curt, and his facial expressions, demeanor towards public defender, and his actions alarmed other attorneys and members of the gallery
  • Barry’s actions and demeanor created an injudicious atmosphere in his courtroom
  • Barry’s comments to public defender gave appearance he was attempting to coerce a guilty plea (subsequently the jury found the defendant not guilty)
  • Engaged in undignified treat of attorneys who were unfortunate in having to appear before him
  • Failed to perform all judicial duties fairly and impartially
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arkansas Judicial Discipline & Disability Commission punished Barry by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Barry practices his so-called brand of jurisprudence as a Sixth Judicial Circuit Court judge in Pulaski and Perry Counties.
