Judge J. Steven Cox of Brookville, IN; ethical goblin

The State of Indiana provided James Steven Cox with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law.

The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Entertained and granted an improper ex parte (one-sided) petition for change of custody without prior notice to the custodial parent or her counsel
  • Violated custodial parents due process rights
  • Knowingly violated Trial Rule 65(B) that mandated to define in his ex parte order the nature of the emergency and state why it is irreparable and why the order was granted without notice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Judge by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. September 2021), Judge Cox continues to dispense his so-called version of jurisprudence as a Franklin Circuit Court judge in Brookville, Indiana.
