Attorney James Devlin of Raynham, MA; repeat drunken convict

The state of Massachusetts presented James P. Devlin with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Suffolk University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found James guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Criminally charged with driving a motor vehicle under the influence (second offense)
  • Charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle
  • Charged with illegally crossing marked lanes
  • Recognizing what Jimmy characterized as an alcohol addiction, he informed Bar Counsel that he was voluntarily transferring to disability inactive status

Pursuant to Supreme Judicial Court Rules, an attorney may be placed on disability inactive status where the court concludes that the attorney is "incapacitated from continuing to practice law" because of a physical or mental condition, which in this case was Jimmy’s admission that he was an alcoholic.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Jimmy fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.devlinlawgroup.com. Apparently, Jimmy decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients to forestall limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. September 2021) Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Offices of James P. Devlin ESQ at 2 Richard Street in Raynham, Massachusetts.
