Judge Soliman Santos Jr. of Philippines: moron, serial offender

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Soliman M. Santos Jr. with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Soliman guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Sent cellphone text messages to the parties in a case or to lawyers to explain his decision and suggest what legal recourse they should take
  • Advised the losing party to file a motion for reconsideration of his ruling
  • When improperly advising the losing party’s attorneys, Soliman said in his text message “Meri Xmas”
  • Misconduct placed the entire judiciary into a position of notoriety
  • Conduct opened the actions of all judges and justices to questions on their integrity
  • Exhibited a propensity for flouting the rules of propriety in his judicial actions

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Soliman’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) complimentary admonishments for violating Supreme Court rules, gross inefficiency or undue delay, and gross ignorance of the law (moron).

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Soliman by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension from the bench without pay.

As we speak (ca.September 2021), Soliman practices his so-called brand of jurisprudence as Naga City Regional Trial Court Judge in Naga City, Philippines.
