Judge Michael Wolverton of Anchorage, AK; incompetent boob, lifetime porker

The state of Alaska provided Michael L. Wolverton with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Denver School of Law.

FYI: Mikey has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past forty-two (42) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Anchorage area was about to offer Mikey a good paying job.

In one matter, Mikey was assigned to preside over the Wassillie v. State matter that involved the issue of an indictment against a defendant for escaping from a halfway house.

In his infinite ignorance, Mikey found the defendant guilty when he accepted inadmissible hearsay evidence. 

Subsequently, Mr. Wassillie successfully appealed Mikey’s asinine ruling that led to the Court of Appeal issuing the following findings.

• The indictment was invalid because it was based on incident report prepared by a staff member of the halfway house that related another resident’s description of the Mr. Wassillie’s conduct.  
• The resident’s description of Wassillie’s conduct introduced to the grand jury was not admissible under the business records exception to the hearsay rule. 
• Without the report from the staff member that was presented to the grand jury there was insufficient evidence to support an indictment of Mr. Wassillie.

Of course, it goes without saying that Mikey doesn’t much give a damn when he’s overturned (rebuked in truth) by the appellate court since he is well aware that no Alaskan judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being an incompetent boob
