Judge Nakita Blocton of Birmingham, AL; bullying loser

The state of Alabama provided Nakita Blocton with a law license in 2008 after she graduated from the State University of New York Buffalo School of Law.

The Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission found Judge Blocton guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Forced he court staff to take diet pills
  • Stated a belief that the Judicial Inquiry Commission was “going to kill her”
  • Abused her staff sometimes calling them names, resulting in an inordinate amount of staff turnover
  • Required staff to work unreasonable hours on short notice and threatened to fire them if they didn’t comply
  • Told one staffer to “shut the hell up” and tried to block the staffer from leaving
  • Forced staff members to take the diet pill Phentermine on at least one occasion, telling them that it would help “pep” them up from working late the night before
  • Exhibited a pattern of inordinate day in issuing rulings and disposing of her caseload
  • Used prescription pills, including Phentermine, which produced behavioral changes
  • On occasions, Nakita would become hyper-talkative and hyper-somnolent in chambers and on the bench
  • She exhibited paranoid behavior, such as talking in circles about the same issue for hours
  • Told fellow judges that the Judicial Commission was involved in a political hit job aimed at getting her off the bench
  • Used aliases to send threatening messages to a litigant in a divorce case who filed a complaint against Nakita with the Judicial Commission
  • Sent text messages disparaging other judges to a friend who worked for Nakita
  • Retaliated against lawyers who called to inquire about pending orders by directing staff to put their cases on the bottom of the stack
  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications with lawyers
  • Routinely kept lawyers, litigants, including minor children, at the courthouse on virtual hearings late at night or for unnecessarily long hearings
  • Ignored COVID-19 protocols
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of her erratic, nutsy behavior, the Alabama Supreme Court ordered that Judge Blocton be temporarily removed from the bench in mid-May 2021.

All that remains now is to see what if any final punishment is meted out to Judge Blocton by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), it is rumored that Judge Blocton has applied for a job as a greeter
