Attorney Eric Dale of Clinton, IA; lying slacker

The state of Iowa provided Jonathan Lee Sears with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from Drake University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Eric guilty of engaging in the following misconduct

  • Engaged in criminal conduct adversely reflecting on her fitness to practice law
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Made false statement to a tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonest, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Failed to explain matter so client can make informed decision
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Eric practices his brand of law at 719 South 2nd Street in Clinton, Iowa.
