Attorney Quintin Alcid Jr. of Philippines; dimwit, slacker

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Quintin P. Alcid Jr. with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Committee on Bar Discipline found Quintin guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
  • Blundered by filing a civil case for specific performance and damages before the RTC, when he should have filed it with the MTC due to the amount involved
  • Lack of professionalism in dealing with complainant was gross and inexcusable

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Quintin by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license and issued a warning that similar conduct in the future would be dealt with more severely.

As we speak (ca. July 2021), Quintin practices his brand of law in Santiago, Isabela, Philippines.
