Attorney Jeffrey Cooper of Plainfield, IN; ethical gnome

The state of Illinois presented Jeffrey Cooper with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Jeff also received a license to practice law in Illinois in 2005.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Jeff guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • In six client matters ranging from estate administration to applications for Veterans Administration benefits, accepted retainers but then failed to communicate with his clients or advance their cases
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while administratively suspended

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his license.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Jeff practices his brand of law with Cooper Estate Planning and Elder Law LLC at 2680 East Main Street in Plainfield, Indiana.
