Attorney Raymond Clough of Jamaica; ethical ogre

The Jamaica Licensing Commission provided Raymond Clough with a law license in 1989.

The Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Counsel found Ray guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in deplorable negligence
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Gross negligence led to client’s personal injury claims being barred by statute of limitations
  • Ray’s actions facilitated the loss $232,000.000 to the client
  • Ray’s actions facilitated the loss $140,000.000 to the client
  • Failed to enforce a judgment that he had obtained on behalf of his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Ray by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license and was assessed costs of $850,000.00 with $400,000.00 of said costs being paid to the complainant.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Harry practices his brand of law in Kingston, Jamaica.
