Justice Peter Maiden of New South Whales; slacker, repeat offender

The New South Whales Judicial Commission found Justice Maiden guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Pete’s 1^st bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

• Mistreated lawyers appearing before him

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission

 decided against punishing Pete because of his clam he was suffering from a longstanding depressive order.

Pete’s 2^nd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

• Upheld eight (8) complaints lodged against him
• Did not posses the personal characteristics enabling him to satisfactorily perform judicial duties of a District Court judge

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary warning.

Pete’s 3^rd bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree

• Misbehavior adversely impacted future reputation and standing of the District Court
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Does not possess personal characteristics enabling him to satisfactorily perform his judicial duties in the future
• Failed to appreciate the egregiousness of his misconduct
• Repeatedly refused to respond to written communications from the Chief Judge (Screw you, said Pete!)
• In two (2) separate matters, failed to deliver judgments for more than three (3) years
• Made at least two (2) false statements to ethics investigators (Up yours, said Pete!)
• In seven (7) separate matters, failed to deliver judgments for more than two (2) years
• Took nearly two years to write a three and a half page judgment

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Judge Maiden by the enablers for Judicial Misfit sitting on the Judicial Commission.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Pete continues to dispense his idea of jurisprudence as a New South Whales District Court judge in Victoria, New South Whales.
