Judge James Chalfant of Los Angeles, CA: incompetent boob

The state of California presented Brad A. Weinreb with a law license in 1971 after she graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Former Gov. Pete Wilson was duped into appointing Jimmy as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in 1981. Jimmy didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Los Angeles area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Judge Chalfant was assigned to preside over a matter involving pharmacist Madhat Bakr whose license was revoked because he altered or forged prescriptions for pain medications, controlled substances, for his son, a burn victim. The revocation was to take effect on Jan. 10, 2019.

To cement his status as an overbearing Wannabee Dictator and Aspiring Standup Comedian, Judge Chalfant arbitrarily set aside the license revocation issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy and reinstated Mr. Bakr’s right to return to practicing as a pharmacist.

The Pharmacy successfully appealed Judge Chalfant’s asinine ruling in asking for a writ of administrative mandamus to be issued against Chalfant and in doing so made the following comments.

  • “The reviewing court [Chalfant] does not substitute its judgment for the discretion of the administrative agency.”
  • “The record discloses no manifest abuse of discretion by the Board in the discipline it imposed.”
  • “Here, there were multiple violations of controlled substance prescriptions that also involved dishonest or fraudulent conduct.

Of course, Jimmy does not much give a damn how many times he is overruled by an Appellate Court since he is well aware that no judge in California has ever been tossed off the bench for being an incompetent boob.

As we speak (ca. August 2021), Jimmy continues to practice his so-called brand of jurisprudence as a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Los Angeles, California.
