Attorney John Colleluori of Mineola, NY; ethical troll, repeat offender

The state of New York presented John Colleluori with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Hofstra University School of Law.

The First Department Grievance Committee found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Johnny’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Paid $14,000 of client $35,000 retainer to another attorney w/o advising the client and obtaining written consent from the client to so act
  • Improperly divided a legal fee with another lawyer who was not a partner or associate in his firm
  • Failed to promptly refund an unearned portion of a retainer fee
  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on his fitness as a lawyer

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Johnny’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Filed client notice of appeal eight days after time to so act
  • When appeal denied and after client paid Tony $20,000 advance fee, the client requested a refund of the $20,000
  • Tony offered to return $7,000 to the client and retain $13,000
  • The client refused Tony’s laughable $7,000 offer which caused Tony to increase the offer to $10,000
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to promptly refund an unearned portion of a retainer fee

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Johnny and his firm make no mention of his misconduct as set forth above on their self-serving website at www.criminiallawyernyc.com. Apparently, they decided to conceal this information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. August 2022), Colin practices his so-called brand of law with Law Offices of Raiser & Kenniff PC at 300 Old Country Road in Mineola, New York.
