Judge Melanie Hay of England; ethical goblin

The Law Society presented Melanie Hay with a Barristers license in 1977 after he graduated from Lancaster University School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found May guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Used intemperate language
  • Made a derogatory remark during a hearing to a party in the case

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, The Lord Chancellor and the Lord Chief Justice punished Judge May by gifting her with a complimentary formal advice.

As we speak (ca. August 2021), Melanie continues to sit as a District Court Judge London, United Kingdom.
