Attorney Andrew Homan of Indianapolis, IN; ethical troll

The state of Indiana presented Andrew Kelly Tewksbury Homan with a law license in 2014 after he graduated from the University of Indiana School of Law.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Andy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness (slacker)
• Failed to reasonably consult with a client about the means by which the client’s objectives are to be accomplished
• Failed to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
• Failed to comply promptly with a client’s reasonable requests for information
• Ordered or ratified the misconduct of nonlawyer assistants
• Failed to take reasonable remedial action with respect to the misconduct of nonlawyer assistants under his supervision
• Permitted a person who recommends, employs, or paid him to render legal services for another to direct or regulate his professional judgment in rendering such legal services
• Assisted nonlawyers in the illegal practice of law
• Committed a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Andy by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Andy practices his brand of law with Homan Legal at 244 North College Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana.
