Attorney Brian Lutz of Speedway, IN; ethical ogre

The state of Indiana presented Brian J. Lutz with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law.
The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Brian guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

-
Failed to reasonably consult with a client about the means by which the client’s objectives are to be accomplished
-
Failed to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
-
Failed to comply promptly with a client’s reasonable requests for information
-
Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit a client to make informed decisions
-
Failed to withdraw from representation when the lawyer’s physical or mental condition materially impairs the lawyer’s ability to represent the client
-
Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
-
Missed several court hearings and conferences on behalf of his clients
-
Failed to appropriately advance his clients’ cases or otherwise represent their interests
-
Brian’s shortcomings prompted the initiation of show cause contempt proceedings against him
-

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. August 2021), Jared practices his brand of law at 5026 Crawfordsville Road in Speedway, Indiana.
