Attorney Michael Essien of St. Paul, MN; lying loser

The state of Minnesota presented Michael Anietie Essien with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with a client
  • Failed to timely revive patent application on client’s behalf after it was deemed abandoned
  • Made misrepresentations [lied] to a client
  • Failed to timely correct a deficient patent filing

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Mikey fails to mention the above misconduct on his self-serving website at www.essienlaw.com.   Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Matty practices his brand of law with the Essien Law Office PLLC at 2147 University Avenue West in St. Paul, Minnesota.
