Today’s “Bullshit” Award Winner
Rep. John Boehner is the Speaker of the House and has been sitting in Congress digesting public pork since 1991.
As one of America’s Premier Bullshitters Johnny decided it was time to spew forth a little crap in regards to the next debt ceiling increase request by Obama. Towards that end Johnny said:
“When the time comes, I will again insist on my simple principle of cuts and reforms greater than the debt limit increase. This is the only avenue I see right now to force the elected leadership of this country to solve our structural fiscal imbalance.” (Columbus Dispatch)
Put simply, Johnny is threatening to shut down the government before he’ll agree to Obama’s request to raise the debt ceiling. While Bush II was President, the debt ceiling was raised as follows:
It is abundantly clear that Johnny’s claim of “my simple principle” of cuts and reforms was nonexistent during the eight years of Bush’s presidency. It appears that Johnny’s principles are about as trustworthy as his hyperbolic (BS) comments.
In addition to being a Bullshitter, Johnny is also an aspiring standup comedian. Bullshit and Comedy are necessary ingredients for someone like John Stewart or Steven Colbert; however, it shouldn’t be the chief attributes of the Speaker of the House.
Congrats Johnny; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s most unaccomplished Bullshitters; you are far too humble.
