Attorney Jason Kays of Port Townsend, WA; convicted felon

 

The State of Washington presented Jason M. Kays with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Seattle University School of Law.

 

The Washington State Bar found Jason guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Jason’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Convicted of Malicious Mischief in the second degree, a felony
  • Convicted of fourth degree assault, a misdemeanor
  • Convicted of Harassment, a misdemeanor

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.  

 

Jason’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Police called after Jason poured beer over jewelry store display cases and carpet
  • Charged with Malicious Mischief in third degree, a misdemeanor
  • Convicted of driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Police found Jason, passed out, in the driver’s seat of his car, and he admitted that he had been consuming alcohol
  • After arrest, the Jefferson County District Court issued a bail order that prohibited Jason from using or possessing any intoxicating liquor
  • Eight days after the court ordered bail prohibiting Jason from using or possessing any booze, a police officer witnessed Jason drinking alcohol at the Highway 20 Roadhouse Bar in Port Townsend
  • After being advised of Jason’s drinking at the Highway 20 Roadhouse, the trial court issued an arrest warrant
  • In attempting to serve the arrest warrant on Jason, officers found him hiding in a ditch in an attempt to avoid detection
  • Committed the crime of Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Committed the crime of Resisting Arrest

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Jason by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.  

 

As we speak (ca. May 2021) Jason practices his brand of law at 420 Hastings Avenue in Port Townsend, Washington.
