Attorney Carlos Martir Jr. of New York City; dimwit, serial offender

The state of New York presented Carolos Alberto Martir Jr.  with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the Rutgers University School of Law.

The Appellate Division, First Department Grievance Committee found Carlos guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to appear in a Pennsylvania criminal proceeding for jury selection, which resulted in the court's order directing him to appear for a contempt hearing, at which he also failed to appear
• Found to have been in contempt of the court’s scheduling order
• Carlos was fined $1,500 for his contempt
• Failed to provide competent representation (dimwit)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Carlos’ First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received three (3) private reprimands for engaging in a variety of misconduct, including neglecting client matters, and misrepresenting matters to the court.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Department Grievance Committee punished Carlos by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

And lastly,as one would suspect, Carlos and his firm fail to disclose the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving website at www.carlosmartir.com. Apparently, they decided to conceal said relevant facts from prospective clients to prevent limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Carlos practices his so-called practice of law with the Law Offices Carlos A. Martir Jr. at 30 Wall Street in New York, New York.
