Former Judge Thomas Daley of Belleville, IL; ethical gremlin

The state of Illinois presented Thomas Michael Daley with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct while he was sitting as an Associate 20th Circuit Court Judge for St. Clair County.

  • Failed to devote full time to his judicial duties
  • Received nonjudicial compensation while employed as a watchman
  • Falsified judicial duty reports to the Administrative Office of the Courts showing he was performing judicial duties during the time of his employment as a watchman
  • Tommy’s verified Statement of Economic Interests filed with the State falsely failed to show this employment and income

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension from the bench.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Tommy practices his brand of law with Daley, Sheafor & Roustio at 123 West Main Street in Belleville, Illinois.
