Attorney George Howard III of Knoxville, TN; ethical gnome

The state of Tennessee provided George Turner Howard III with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee School of Law.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found George guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Shared fees without outside counsel without first obtaining informed consent of his clients in writing
  • Improperly provided financial assistance to his clients
  • Held out non-lawyer staff as persons holding corporate officer positions in his firm
  • Made deceptive statements through his advertising

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished George by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. December 2020) George practices his brand of law at 5915 Casey Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee.
