5^th U.S. Circuit Court Judge Don Willett: Bigoted Misogynist

The state of Texas provided Don R. Willett with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Duke University School of Law.

President Donald “Trumporleone” Trump was instructed to nominate Donnie for a seat on the 5^th Circuit Court of Appeals even though he was not the most qualified attorney/jurist in the greater New Orleans/Houston area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

It should be noted that Donnie has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for thirty-five (35) of the past thirty-eight (38) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Austin area was about to offer Donnie a good paying job.

In an ongoing effort to further establish his bona fides as a loony right-wing idealogue, Donnie decided to rant about the issue of second-trimester abortion in a dissent of an opinion for the 5^th Circuit Court of Appeal in New Orleans.

In his asinine dissent, Donnie spewed forth the following crap.

• “A physician extracts from the womb what moments before had been a living ‘unborn child’—using forceps, scissors or a similar instrument that ‘slices, crushes, or grasps’ fetal body parts one at a time.”
• “Piece by piece. Arm by arm. Leg by leg.”
• “And as the abortion doctor ‘cut[s] or rip[s] the piece from the body’—a torso, a spine, a rib cage—he places each body part on a tray (or in a dish) to keep inventory and ensure that nothing is left behind.”
• “Sometimes the heart is still beating on the tray.”
• “The fetus dies just as an adult experiencing corporal dismemberment would—by bleeding to death as his or her body is torn apart.”

Donnie the Bigoted Loon continued on with his rant by stating the following.

• “Civilized society has long recognized that death and dignity should coincide.” Willett said as he began his opinion.
• “It’s why we dress up for funerals and venerate the heroes of hospice and palliative care.”
• “It’s why we derive comfort when we hear that a loved one died peacefully in their sleep; the loss, no less sorrowful, is leavened with solace knowing that someone dear to us didn’t suffer.”
• “It’s why babies born pre-viability receive medication to ease their passing.”
• “Human dignity should prevail even when—especially when—human life slips away.”

In Donnie’s demented and bigoted mind, denying low income African American and Latino Moms to he right to have an abortion and then denying them financial assistance to raise the unwanted child is perfectly acceptable behavior.

It would have been helpful to the women being treated as chattel by Donnie the Bigoted Misogynist if his mother had opted to have an abortion

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Donnie the Bigoted Misogynist continues to sit as a Judge on the 5^th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, Louisiana.
