Attorney Sheldon Banks of Deerfield, IL; ethical dwarf

The state of Illinois presented Sheldon Lee Banks with a law license in 1965.

The Disciplinary Commission found Sheldon guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to return unearned fees (crook)
  2. Failed to respond to requests from disciplinary board (Up Yours, said Sheldon!)
  3. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  4. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  5. Engaged in conduct tending to bring the courts/legal profession into disrepute
  6. Neglected a legal matter
Sheldon agreed to represent Kenneth Hicks when he was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Sheldon agreed to represent Hicks for a flat fee of $10,000, which led Hicks’ mother Ratunda to issue him a cashier’s check for $15,000.

Subsequently, pay. The Disciplinary Board ruled that Sheldon did absolutely no legal work to justify his retention of the $7,500.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Sheldon by gifting him with another 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2012) Sheldon 707 Lake Cook Road in Deerfield, Illinois.
