Attorney Marilyn Wappel of Saskatchewan, CAN; forgery aficionado

The Law Society of Saskatchewan presented Jacob Robert Hoffart with a law license in 1989 after she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan School of Law.

The Law Society of Saskatchewan found Marilyn guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Over nine-year period, Marilyn falsified signatures on corporate documents relating to her employer’s business with the intent that they be relied upon as though the signatures that she had placed upon them were genuine
  • Engaged in conduct unbecoming a lawyer
  • Marilyn’s employer identified 26 documents on which she had forged the signature of other employees

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Law Society of Saskatchewan disciplinary panel punished Marilyn by gifting her with a complimentary 4-month suspension of her law license and assessed her costs of $3,190.00.

And lastly, because Attorney Misfits in Canada are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Marilyn was never criminally prosecuted for forgery.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Marilyn practices at 1945 Hamilton Street in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
